SEATTLE (Diya TV) — The Seattle Seahawks have a new ownership group after the Khosla family completed its purchase of the NFL franchise Thursday, ending the team’s ownership under the estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

Silicon Valley venture capitalist Vinod Khosla will serve as chair. His wife, Neeru Khosla, will serve as controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation, while their son, Neal Khosla, will serve as vice chair.

Former Apptio CEO Sunny Gupta and healthcare investor Nader Naini also joined the ownership group as co-owners, maintaining ties between the franchise and Seattle’s business community.

Gupta co-founded Bellevue-based enterprise software company Apptio, which IBM acquired for $4.6 billion in 2023. He also served as executive chair of Smartsheet and recently launched enterprise artificial intelligence startup Thira.

Naini is a longtime executive at Seattle-based Frazier Healthcare Partners, where he has served in leadership roles since the 1990s. He also serves on the board of the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers.

Vinod Khosla co-founded Sun Microsystems and later founded venture capital firm Khosla Ventures.

The sale follows the Seahawks’ ownership under Paul Allen, who purchased the franchise in 1997. The team remained under his estate following his death in 2018.

The Seahawks said the Khosla family will be formally introduced at a press conference next Wednesday at Lumen Field.

The ownership transition comes as Seattle prepares for the 2026 NFL season under its new leadership.
