WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President Donald Trump said Monday that Israel and Iran agreed to a cease-fire to halt what he called the “12-Day War.” Trump announced the plan on Truth Social and wrote that the cease-fire would begin in six hours.
Trump posted that Israel and Iran would stop fighting after 12 hours of a cease-fire. According to him, the agreement requires Iran to halt its strikes first. Israel will follow 12 hours later.
“Congratulations to everyone!” Trump wrote. “Israel and Iran have fully agreed to a Complete and Total Ceasefire.”
He added that the war would officially end after 24 hours if both countries kept their promises.
Trump praised both nations for their endurance.
“This is a war that could have lasted for years,” he wrote. “Instead, it will end quickly because leaders in Israel and Iran have decided to do what is right.”
As of Monday night, officials in Israel and Iran had not publicly confirmed Trump’s announcement. Reporters had not received any updates from either side.
The White House also did not release a formal comment after Trump’s post.
Earlier in the day, Iranian rockets targeted a U.S. military base in Qatar. U.S. forces intercepted most of the rockets before they reached their target. Iran launched those rockets after American bombers and Israeli jets struck its nuclear facilities last week.
The conflict started on June 13 when Israel bombed Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility. Airstrikes also killed several Iranian military leaders and scientists.
U.S. B-2 bombers dropped 14 large bunker-buster bombs on Iran’s underground nuclear sites. Damage assessments continued Monday.
Trump said all three Iranian facilities hit by the U.S. and Israel were destroyed.
That military success led him to call the war the “12-Day War.”
Vice President JD Vance praised Trump’s role in reaching a cease-fire.
“The president did this without losing a single American,” Vance told Fox News. “He destroyed Iran’s nuclear program and kept America safe.”
Vance also said U.S. diplomats would meet with Iranian and Israeli officials to plan long-term solutions.
“We have to talk to Iran and Israel about the future,” Vance said. “That work begins after the cease-fire.”
Trump urged both countries to respect the cease-fire.
“They must stay peaceful for the full 24 hours,” Trump wrote. “That’s the path to real peace.”
He also thanked the U.S. military for its role.
“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East,” he wrote. “And God bless the United States.”
As of late Monday, the world waited to see if the cease-fire would hold.
