DELHI (Diya TV) — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its latest list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, featuring a lineup of prominent celebrities and industrialists.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, known for her vocal support of the BJP, is poised to enter the political fray by contesting from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, her hometown. Joining her on the electoral battlefield is Arun Govil, renowned for portraying Lord Rama in the iconic TV serial Ramayan, who will be vying for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat. Additionally, industrialist Naveen Jindal, formerly associated with the Congress, will represent the BJP in Kurukshetra.

Ranaut, 37, expressed her gratitude to the BJP for nominating her as their Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi. With her support for the party, she is set to contest against Congress leader Pratibha Singh in the upcoming elections. Similarly, Govil, who recently joined the BJP along with Anuradha Paudwal, is poised to replace the incumbent MP Rajendra Agrawal in Meerut. Govil’s transition from the entertainment industry to politics marks a significant milestone in his career.

Meanwhile, Jindal’s decision to switch allegiance from the Congress to the BJP underscores the evolving political landscape in the lead-up to the elections. As the head of steel and power giant JSPL, Jindal brings valuable industry expertise to the table. His nomination from Kurukshetra follows his previous public service, having served as a Member of Parliament from the constituency from 2004 to 2014.

The BJP’s decision to field these high-profile candidates reflects its strategic approach to leveraging celebrity appeal and industry acumen in the electoral arena. Ranaut’s entry into politics aligns with her longstanding association with the BJP, while Govil and Jindal’s transitions signal new chapters in their respective careers.
