SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — India has become the top country of origin for immigrant billionaires in the United States, surpassing Israel and Taiwan. According to the Forbes 2025 List of America’s Richest Immigrants, 12 Indian-born billionaires now rank among 125 foreign-born tycoons shaping the U.S. economy.

This elite group of immigrants holds a combined wealth of $1.3 trillion, which accounts for 18% of the total net worth of all American billionaires. The rising number of Indian-origin billionaires highlights the country’s growing global influence in business and technology.

At the top of the list is Jay Chaudhry, founder of cybersecurity firm Zscaler. Born in a small village in Himachal Pradesh, Chaudhry moved to the U.S. for higher education. He later launched Zscaler, now worth over $30 billion. His net worth has reached $17.9 billion, making him the wealthiest Indian-born billionaire in the U.S.
