SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – Multiple vigils and protests were held in U.S. cities to remember the victims of the deadly 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that killed 166 people including several Americans. Demonstrations in Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Houston and Washington were held to condemn Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Along with marchers, trucks with digital signs were used to amplify the message.
Friends and family are mourning the loss of two men from India in a Thanksgiving day drowning at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Officials say 24 year old Uthej Kunta was struggling to swim. That’s when 25 year old Shiva Keligari dove in to help but was dragged down into the water as well and did not resurface. Both men were graduate students in the school of medicine at St. Louis University.
And China recently held a meeting with 19 countries from the Indian Ocean region, but India was not invited. Observers say tensions remain high between India and China as the latter is vying for influence in this strategic area.
