WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — A group of Indian-American supporters of Donald Trump and other members of the Asian American community have joined forces in celebrating the inauguration of the President-elect, announcing they will host a ball in his honor on Jan. 19.

The ball will also honor Indian Americans who have been nominated by the billionaire real estate mogul to key positions of his presidential administration, such as South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who has been nominated by Trump to serve as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Organized by the Trump-Pence Asian Pacific Advisory Committee, the event has been fittingly named the “Asian Pacific American Presidential Inaugural Gala 2017.” The committee has a multitude of Indian-American members. “[Trump and Vice President-elect] Pence elect have been invited [along with] members of their cabinet, elected Republican leadership and Ambassadors of Asian Countries,” said Ahluwalia, finance chairman of Trump’s Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee Presidential Gala. “The goal is to have a significant Indian American presence at the event along with performance.”

The ball will be held at the historic Mayflower Hotel in the nation’s capital on the eve of Trump’s swearing-in.

According to the official statement of APAAC and the National Committee of Asian American Republicans, the inaugural ball will feature celebrations that will be attended by dignitaries and presidential appointees.
