ELKTON, Maryland (Diya TV) — Maryland police arrested a man accused of killing an Indian American motel owner during a dispute over a room rental. 59 year old Ushaben Patel was shot in the chest at the New Eastern Motel. Her husband was also shot but is expected to survive. Friends say the couple moved to America more than two decades ago. Their sons also work at the motel.
The World Health Organization now points to wildlife farms in Southern China as the most likely source of the Covid-19 pandemic. The WHO team says wildlife farms were supplying animals to a Wuhan seafood wholesale market. Scientists believe the coronavirus jumped from a bat, to an animal, and then to humans.
A new report from the American Community Survey shows undocumented Indian Immigrants in the U.S. hold more than $15 billion in spending power and contribute nearly $3 billion to federal, state, and local taxes. There are more than half a million undocumented Indian immigrants in America.
