FLORIDA (Diya TV) — Police in Florida arrested 34-year-old Indian American man Philip Mathew, charging him with 1st degree pre-meditated murder for allegedly stabbing his wife multiple times and running over her body with his car. Philip Mathew is currently being held without bail for the murder of 26-year-old Merin Joy. Police believe the stabbing was part of a domestic dispute between Joy and Mathew.
In a rare reprimand, the House of Representatives voted to formally sanction one of their own, Republican Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona for violating campaign finance rules, imposing a $50,000 fine. He admitted to eleven counts of misconduct. In response, Democratic rival Dr. Hiral Tipirneni said Schweikert “betrayed the public trust.”
America’s gross domestic product plunged nearly 33% as most of the country shut down to deal with the coronavirus, according to government data.
And Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is one of six nominees up for the 2020 US Peace Prize, an honor recognizing America’s most outstanding antiwar leaders.
