NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Indian ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu is thanking New York City Mayor Eric Adams after their recent meeting, showcasing the many accomplishments and influencers in the Diaspora. Singh also praised Adams for intentionally acknowledging and celebrating important cultural holidays like Diwali in America.
A major effort is underway to help Indian families stuck in a green card backlog. So far more than 4 million dollars has been raised to help these families of immigrants from India. In many cases, their uncertain status has made it difficult to hold down a job and support their families.
The Indian government will expand the PM e-Vidya program from 12 to 200 TV channels. The Finance Minister says the government has taken various steps to boost online education during the Covid lockdown.
