In addition, the Defence Ministry explained that these purchases will support India’s fight against terrorism. Under the Emergency Procurement process, the Army can order counter-terrorism equipment faster. As a result, troops will receive new gear without delays, which is crucial when facing serious threats.
Meanwhile, the new equipment list includes drone-detection tools and light-weight radars for border surveillance. It also contains short-range air defense systems and small surveillance drones to monitor terror threats. Moreover, other vital gear like bulletproof helmets, tactical vests, and night-vision sights will also reach soldiers soon. Finally, quick-reaction fighting vehicles will help them move faster in dangerous areas.
In addition, officials noted that most of these items will come from Indian defense companies. This matches the government’s plan for self-reliance and supports local defense manufacturing.
