NEW DELHI (Diya TV)  — A day after India asked 100 million people to stay home amid a growing spread of the Coronavirus, the central and state government are now imposing a complete shutdown in 75 districts across India where COVID-19 cases have been reported. Domestic flights, buses and trains are also suspended, with only essential services and businesses being allowed to continue through the end of the month. While the total number of cases in India is still relatively low, with 341 cases as of Sunday, India is frantically working on producing hundreds of thousands of test kits since government officials believe that number is just the tip of the iceberg.

Meanwhile, President Trump opened his latest coronavirus briefing saying that he may loosen CDC guidelines after the 15 day period recommended amid growing economic fallout, saying “our country wasn’t built to be shut down.” “We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself.”

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul became the first Senator to contract COVID-19 and now some of the Senators he’s come into contact recently, including Mike Lee and Mitt Romney of Utah, are now choosing to self-quarantine.
