NEW YORK (Diya TV) — More bombings and casualties as the Ukraine invasion goes into day 5. Meanwhile, India voted to abstain from a United Nations vote condemning Russia. But experts in the region say India needs both the United States and Russia to contain China, which is pushing up against its borders and gaining influence with its neighbors.
Top U.S. diplomat Donald Lu says the Biden administration did everything in it’s power to persuade India to vote with the other countries. Lu said The Indian Government’s rationale was that it wanted to leave open the possibility of a diplomatic solution and was concerned about the welfare of the thousands of Indian students still in Ukraine.
President Biden delivered his first state of the union address. Touching on a multitude of issues the US is facing on both the domestic and foreign fronts, while also reaffirming to Americans that the country and its people are “strong.” He also condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and outlined his plan to emerge from the Covid 19 pandemic.
