LONG ISLAND (Diya TV) – Another chapter of a historic rivalry is in the books. Coming off a crushing loss to the USA, Pakistan fell to India by six runs in the T20 World Cup. In front of 34,000 fans at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the matchup did not come cheap considering the past between the two squads. The minimum price of a ticket was $2500.

After an hour-long rain delay, India started the game hot with a six from Rohit early on. However, the weather still wouldn’t budge and another stoppage occurred. Thanks to some sluggish offense from India, Pakistan drew the gap closer once it was due up.

However, at the end of the match, a hero emerged. India’s Jasprit Bumrah bowled out Pakistan star Mohammad Rizwan and effectively took them out of the running. The loss was a crusher for the Green Shirts as it knocked them out due to their prior loss against the USA. Meanwhile, India has advanced to the next stage of the T20 World Cup, the Super 8.

Among the many fans in attendance were the Indiaspora network, represented by business leaders Indra Nooyi, Sourav Ganguly, former Pakistan coach Waqar Younis, and several members of the non-profit organization. It was a large and momentous gathering for Indiaspora on a day in which India could celebrate in unity.
