WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — The U.S. tech industry is struggling with a labor shortage. But a provision in the House of Representatives Build Back Better Act could boost the hiring of foreign born workers and ramp up the availability of green cards. But the Democratic party’s sweeping social spending and climate bill is already getting push back from Republicans who say it will hurt American workers.
The University of Pennsylvania Law School is condemning comments recently made by Professor Amy Wax after she said the influx of “Asian elites” in the US is dangerous and problematic. She called Indians and South Asians rising stars in medicine. But she went on to say they’re the new Jews and that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are “poisoning the scientific establishment and the medical community. Wax is white and also Jewish. UPenn played host to the Dismantling Global Hindutva conference in recent months, leading the Hindu American Foundation to file a federal complaint asking for an investigation into Penn’s treatment of students and faculty of Indian and Hindu descent.
Indian American singer Falguni Shah has been nominated again for a Grammy Award in the Children’s Music category. This time for her kids album “A Colourful World.”
