WASHINGTON D.C. (Diya TV) – The Senate confirmed President Joe Biden’s nomination of Eric Garcetti to be U.S. Ambassador to India after he had faced pushback from some Democrats. Garcetti is the former Los Angeles Mayor, who was facing headwinds for allegedly ignoring accusations of sexual harassment and bullying by one of his former senior aides.
Two Indian American educators have been named as co-chairs of the new Association of American Universities task force focused on strengthening partnerships between universities in the United States and India. Penn State University President Neeli Bendapudi and incoming Tufts University president Sunil Kumar will serve on the three person board.
Sean Desai is the new defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles and has strong family ties to the area. He was the first Indian American defensive coordinator in National Football League history when he was with the Chicago Bears.
