SACRAMENTO (Diya TV) — Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters rushed to the scene of the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society in south Sacramento County following reports of explosions. The temple, located in the Vineyard neighborhood, was engulfed in flames as propane tanks ignited, causing severe damage to nearby structures and vehicles.
Authorities swiftly responded to the commotion, evacuating worshipers and ensuring no injuries were reported. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials arrived to tackle the blaze, which emanated from an outlying building used for religious classes. Although the main temple remained unscathed, the intensity of the fire prompted a robust firefighting effort to prevent further escalation.
The inferno, exacerbated by the detonation of multiple propane tanks, sent plumes of smoke billowing into the sky, visible from miles away. As firefighters battled the flames, residents and community leaders, including Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, expressed concern over the incident.
