DALLAS (Diya TV) – In Texas, a woman captured on video hurling racist insults at a group of Indian American women is facing a lawsuit. Dr. Bidisha Rudra is suing Esmeralda Upton, claiming the incident last month traumatized her and caused her emotional distress.

A group of more than 50 New Jersey-based Hindu American organizations are criticizing the Teaneck Democrats for passing what they call a “hate filled” resolution against their religion. The issue involves longtime allegations Indian prime minister Narendra Modi advocated for taking away certain rights from Indian Muslims, including land ownership. This controversy overseas continues to impact the diaspora here in America.

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said he will formally resign from the role amid an economic crisis exacerbated by recent devastating flooding, as he becomes the 6th finance minister to resign in less than four years.
