PHOENIX, Ariz. (Diya TV) — Erika Kirk has been named CEO of Turning Point USA, taking over the conservative youth organization her husband, Charlie Kirk, co-founded and led until his assassination last week.
The organization’s board announced in a post on X, saying that Charlie Kirk had previously expressed his wish for Erika to continue his work if anything were to happen to him. “We will not surrender or kneel before evil,” the board said. “We will carry on.”
Turning Point USA, founded in 2012, became one of the most influential conservative organizations in the United States under Charlie Kirk’s leadership. The group gained prominence for mobilizing young voters and promoting conservative principles on college campuses, particularly supporting Donald Trump’s MAGA movement.
Erika Kirk said she is committed to continuing her husband’s mission and legacy. “To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she said in her Sept. 12 remarks. “My husband’s mission will not end, not even for a moment.”
She also pledged to continue the American Comeback Tour, a series of campus events planned for this fall, which aims to inspire and educate young conservatives.
Born Erika Frantzve, she grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, raised by her mother after her parents divorced. Kirk studied political science at Arizona State University and briefly played NCAA basketball. She won the Miss Arizona USA pageant in 2012.
Erika and Charlie Kirk became engaged in 2020 and married the following year. The couple shared two young children.
Under Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA became a major force in shaping conservative youth activism. The organization has often made headlines for its events on college campuses and high-profile political endorsements.
The transition of leadership to Erika Kirk marks a new chapter for the group amid the tragedy of her husband’s death. She has emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum and ensuring the organization’s influence continues nationwide.
The Turning Point USA board highlighted that the decision to appoint Erika Kirk as CEO aligns with Charlie Kirk’s wishes. They praised her dedication to the organization’s goals and her readiness to lead.
Kirk has made it clear she plans to uphold the principles her husband championed. She intends to focus on youth engagement, conservative activism, and continuing the organization’s expansion across the country. Experts say her appointment could help stabilize the organization during this period of uncertainty and maintain the momentum Charlie Kirk had built over more than a decade.
Charlie Kirk’s killing shocked the conservative community and the broader political landscape. His work with Turning Point USA inspired many young conservatives and positioned the organization as a key player in American politics.
With Erika Kirk now at the helm, the organization aims to honor his legacy while charting a path forward. “We will carry on,” Erika Kirk said, echoing the board’s statement. Turning Point USA’s future will likely be closely watched by supporters and critics alike, as Erika Kirk takes on the challenge of leading the organization during a pivotal moment in its history.
