SACRAMENTO (Diya TV) — Indian American Devika Bushan is now California’s top doctor. Bushan was named acting surgeon general and will be taking over for doctor Nadine Burke Harris who recently resigned after three years on the job. Bushan says she is humbled and honored to take over.
Critics continue to slam China accusing the communist nation of politicizing the Beijing Winter Olympics. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio called out the host nation for choosing a torchbearer, who was involved in ambushing Indian troops near the China-India border. Rubio called it appalling and deliberately provocative, saying he stands with India. and the Senate Foreign Relations committee tweeted out that the U.S. will continue to support India and the Uyghur Muslims who are being persecuted in that country.
