WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — The Associated Press has named Daisy Veerasingham president and CEO. She is a first-generation British national of Sri Lankan descent, will be the first woman, first international citizen, and first person of color to lead the 175 year old news organization.

The Hindu American Foundation is partnering with UNICEF USA to raise funds supporting India’s fight against COVID-19. They’ll be focusing especially on water sanitation, hygiene, and humanitarian aid in highly vulnerable rural and urban communities. UNICEF is also helping train frontline workers.

The National Gallery of Australia will hand back another 14 Indian antiquities linked to a disgraced international dealer as part of a campaign to remove looted items from its Asian art collection. Officials say the 13 objects worth about 3 million dollars, include bronze and stone sculptures, a brass processional standard, a painted scroll, and photographs.
