BEIJING (Diya TV) — For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, China health officials report no new domestic cases of COVID-19. A majority of 215,000 cases globally have been in China, where the outbreak originated.
Miami Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart became the first known member of Congress to test positive for the coronavirus. He entered self-quarantine in Washington Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed below 20,000 on Wednesday, bringing the index back to 2017 levels, nearly wiping out all of the gains from the Trump era. Blue-chips fell more than 1,300 points or 6 percent, as the realization sets in of the grave impact the virus is having on the economy as unemployment claims explode around the nation.
India is working on legislation to combat the economic impact of the coronavirus and it may include cash payments to workers. Indian has at least 151 cases and three deaths stemming from COVID-19.
