Sudha Murty, 73, is not only a prolific author but also a prominent figure in philanthropy. She is renowned for her instrumental role in establishing initiatives to educate and empower marginalized communities. As the former chairperson of Infosys Foundation, she spearheaded numerous projects aimed at societal upliftment before retiring in 2021.

Murty’s journey is marked by numerous accolades, including the prestigious Padma Shri in 2006 and the Padma Bhushan in 2023. An alumna of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), she holds the distinction of being the first female engineer to work on the shop floor at Tata Engineering & Locomotive Company.
