VIENNA, VA (Diya TV) The legendary Bollywood playback singer who sang over a 13000 songs, performed her farewell concert tour in U.S.A, on June 29th at the Wolf Trap National Centre for the Performing Arts’ Filene Centre in Vienna, Virginia.
The concert was at its best and mesmerized thousands of fans and filling the fans with joy and nostalgia – an evening that would be remembered as bittersweet by her fans.

“What an evening?”said Balraj Palli, a resident of Great Falls, Virginia. His wife, Kanta Palli, nodded in agreement. “It was not a concert but powerful moments of nostalgia,” he added.
Bhosle being in her early 80’s and almost six successful decades in the Bollywood industry her songs are still evergreen and heart touching. The concert had many attendees travelling from far places and was jam packed with her fans cheering “We love you Ashaji”.

sle sang and were lip synced from the most famous actresses- Madhubala to Helen to Asha Parekh to Zeenat Aman to Poonam Dhilon.
Bhosle also gave a tribute in remembrance to her sister, Lata Mangeshkar who is another legend herself as a playback singer. Asha sang one of her sister’s popular songs ‘ Aa Lag ja gale ke phir mulakat ho na ho (Come embrace me in this life, we might not meet again)’. The crowd was all silent and felt heavy hearted while Asha was singing this song.
Paying tribute to her father, Dinanath Mangeshkar, Asha said the she owes her musical life to her father, her first teacher, who trained her from early childhood along with her siblings.
The crowd got on their feet as Bhosle got to the stage. She sang songs from fifties to her latest albums to please every single fan! Although Lata Mangeshkar her sister was named the nightingale of India, Bhosle didn’t stay her sister’s shadow, rather carved her own niche, becoming a versatile singer and singing everything from Ghazals, folk, Indian Classical to collaborations with western bands,
Its no wonder the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee (India’s highest award in cinema), Asha Bhonsle is acknowledged in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in the music history. She has also been awarded the Filmfare seven times as the “Best Playback Singer”, and the Padma Vibhushan ( is the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India) in 2008 for her contribution to the Indian Cinema.
The night concluded with a surprise performance by Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zabia Bhosle, who is an Indian Classical Dancer and an upcoming singer in the Bollywood industry. This was Bhosle’s last performances in the U.S and she once again proved herself the legend.
