ANAHEIM, Calif. (Diya TV) — Anaheim California Mayor Harry Sidhu has resigned amid allegations he attempted to leverage the proposed sale of Angel Stadium to the Los Angeles Angels in an effort to procure campaign finance donations. The Indian American was running for re-election in November. Sidhu’s lawyer announced the mayor’s resignation but denied any wrongdoing.
The death toll is now up to 19 children and two teachers after a gunman opens fire at a primary school in Texas. The suspect killed by police has been identified as 18 year old Salvador Ramos. Tuesday’s attack was the deadliest school shooting in the US in a decade. It has spurred widespread public anger and renewed calls for US lawmakers to enact stricter gun control legislation.
