MYSORE, India (DIYA TV) After nearly 40 years, Mysore Palace was illuminated and  witnessed the Royal Wedding of the Wadiyar Family on 27th June, 2016 in Mysore. The 27th king of the Wadiyar Family, formerly known “Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar” tied the knot with Trishika Kumari, princess of Dungarpur in Rajasthan.

The ceremony took place in the “Kalyana Mantapa” of the Amba Vilas Palace. The wedding witnessed over 80 Royal families and a thousand dignitaries from India and other foreign countries. As per the Wadiyar dynasty traditions, the intricate wedding ceremony began with invocations to the royal family deity Hindu Goddess Chamundeshwari followed by 50 other traditional rituals performed by the bride and groom.

The 24 year groom old was made the 27th titular head of the Mysore-Wadiyar family after the passing of Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wodeyar. He was adopted on February 23, 2015 and later, he was crowned as the 27th Maharaja on May 28, 2015.
