Frieda PintoLOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — For actress Frieda Pinto, her role in the upcoming “Jungle Book: Origins,” is personal. After rising to stardom for her efforts in “Slumdog Millionaire,” she recently said her life has come full circle with the opportunity to be a part of this new project.

“It’s going to be a while for Jungle Book. It will release in 2017. I am pretty excited about it because we all used to watch it on Doordarshan every Sunday. We loved watching it. Life kind of becomes full circle to participate in a project like that,” Frieda said.

She will provide voiceover for the character of Mowgli’s adoptive mother in the film which is set for release on Oct. 17, 2017. Director Andy Serkis found a role in the Warner Bros.’ motion capture live-action adventure adaptation, providing voice for the character of Baloo the friendly bear. Pinto is just as excited at the opportunity to work with Serkis.

“It is Andy and I am super excited,” she said.

Until then, moviegoers can have a look at Frieda’s latest project, “Knight of Cups,” which was directed by Terrence Malick, and stars her alongside the Batman franchise lead, Christian Bale.
