MILWAUKEE (Diya TV) —  Ohio Senator J.D. Vance has joined former President Donald Trump as Trump’s running mate in the 2024 Presidential election. As Vance steps into this high-profile role, his family will likely become a significant part of the 2024 campaign.

J.D. Vance’s wife Usha (Chilukuri) Vance is a prominent Indian American attorney with an incredible string of accomplishments. She most recently worked for preeminent law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where she is known to be a highly skilled litigator specializing in complex civil litigation and appeals cases in higher education, local government, and technology cases.

The daughter of Indian immigrants, Usha grew up in the suburbs outside of San Diego. She was once a registered Democrat, but is now a registered Republican. She attended Yale University, where she met J.D. Vance, for her undergraduate and law degree and obtained a Gates Fellowship to attend Cambridge. She clerked for Supreme Court Justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh and Indian American U.S. Circuit Court Judge Amul Thapar, someone who is considered a leading candidate to serve on the highest court one day.

Usha has played a significant role in her husband’s political rise and aided the creation of his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy,” which was the starting point of Vance’s notoriety.

In an interview with “Fox & Friends” in June, Usha commented on the possibility of her husband receiving the Vice President nomination.

“I’m not raring to change anything about our lives right now, but I believe in J.D., and I really love him, and so we’ll just sort of see what happens with our life,” she said.

She is also a practicing Hindu, who is supportive of her husband’s Christian faith.

Usha and J.D. have three children, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel, all of whom will have elevated profiles should they end up living in the Naval Observatory next year.
