WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — The prominent Hindu organization BAPS is facing new allegations in an updated lawsuit that it lured laborers from India and forced hundreds of people to work for low wages at its temple sites in Atlanta, New Jersey, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston.  Earlier this year, a group of Indian workers also filed a human trafficking lawsuit against BAPS. Officials with the organization have denied any wrongdoing. 

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris laid flowers at a Paris memorial to mark the anniversary of the Islamic State attacks that killed 130 people in the French capital six years ago. Harris’ trip was part of an effort by Washington to mend relations with France. 

In Australia, a life-sized bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi was vandalized, shocking the Indian community in that country. The incident happened hours after the statue was unveiled at the Australian Indian Community Centre as part of a celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence.
