WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — A day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Congress is launching a formal impeachment inquiry, President Trump released the transcript of the phone call he made to Ukraine’s president. Trump called the impeachment effort a “witch hunt,” saying there was no quid pro quo in his effort to get Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter. Democrats want the whistleblower, who brought this allegation to the public, to testify before Congress.
Indian Prime Minister Modi received the “Global Goalkeeper” award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for his Clean India initiative. The award was conferred despite attempts by protestors upset over the Kashmir decision to get the Gates Foundation to reconsider.
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who fell short in her effort to qualify for the most recent Democratic debate, was able to drum up enough support to qualify for the next debate in October.
And comedian Hasan Minhaj, who has been critical of the Modi government on his show “Patriot Act,” said on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” he was denied press credentials to “Howdy Modi!” in Houston because of his commentary.
