NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — President Donald Trump is personally supporting efforts to strengthen commercial ties with India, including a major Boeing agreement that is close to completion, U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said. The proposed deal highlights growing economic cooperation between the United States and India as both countries seek deeper trade and investment ties.

Gor made the remarks during the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum Leadership Summit. He said Boeing remained a key topic during discussions between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also stressed that the administration wants to deliver results quickly and expand cooperation across several industries.

“We care about Boeing,” Gor said during a conversation with Boeing executive Jeff Shockey. He added that both countries should continue investing in modern and efficient aircraft.

Gor said Trump and Modi also discussed the proposed Boeing agreement during their recent meeting. He expressed confidence that both sides were close to completing another major commercial deal.

“We’re this close to getting another big deal done with India,” Gor said. “We’re looking forward to bringing that across the finish line.”

The ambassador described India as a long-term strategic and economic partner for the United States. He said Washington wants to build stronger business ties and increase cooperation in sectors that drive future growth. According to Gor, artificial intelligence, technology, aviation, and other industries offer significant opportunities for both countries.

“India’s rise is here,” Gor said. “India has arrived. We recognize that we want to partner with India.”

He also emphasized that the Trump administration focuses on measurable progress instead of lengthy bureaucratic processes. Gor said he has already seen important developments during his first six months in India. He added that the administration wants projects to move forward without unnecessary delays.

“I did not go to India to sit at receptions,” Gor said. “I went over there to increase this partnership that is so vitally important to both of our sides.”

In addition, Gor highlighted the role of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi in encouraging investment. He said the embassy helped secure $20.5 billion in new investments in the United States this year. According to him, that performance placed the mission first among American diplomatic posts in attracting investment.

Gor also said that growing investment reflects increasing confidence among companies operating between the two countries. He noted that businesses often ask whether their intellectual property will remain protected and whether regulations will stay stable. He said the United States has confidence in India as a trusted economic partner.

Furthermore, Gor encouraged companies to contact the embassy if they encounter regulatory or administrative challenges while pursuing commercial projects. He said embassy officials stand ready to help businesses resolve issues and complete investments more efficiently.

He also said Trump remains directly involved in supporting American businesses seeking opportunities overseas. According to Gor, the president is willing to assist companies of all sizes if their projects create jobs in the United States.

Boeing continues to play an important role in the India-U.S. economic relationship. The company ranks among the largest American exporters and investors in India. Its presence spans commercial aviation, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, and supply chain partnerships.

Meanwhile, India remains one of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world. Rising passenger demand, expanding airline fleets, and growing airport infrastructure continue to drive aircraft purchases. Industry forecasts suggest the country will require thousands of new airplanes over the coming decades, creating major opportunities for aircraft manufacturers and suppliers.

Commercial cooperation has become an important pillar of the broader India-U.S. strategic partnership. Along with aviation, both governments continue expanding collaboration in defense, advanced technology, energy, critical minerals, and manufacturing. At the same time, officials from both countries have set an ambitious goal of increasing bilateral trade to $500 billion while encouraging greater two-way investment and industrial cooperation.
