INDIANAPOLIS (Diya TV) — Three members of the Sikh community now plan to sue the city of Indianapolis for more than two million dollars for damages following the deadly mass shooting at a FedEx facility in April, that left eight people dead. They’re accusing the city of failing to file a red flag case against the shooter, Brandon Hole. Indiana’s “red flag law” allows police or courts to seize guns from people who may commit violent acts.
There’s now a project underway in England to digitize records of Indian troops who fought in WWI and it’s offering new insight into several Punjabi families. Punjabis of all faiths – Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs – made up around a third of the British Indian Army though they accounted for less than eight percent of the population of British India at the time.
Authorities in the Indian capital, Delhi, have shut all schools and colleges indefinitely amid the worsening levels of air pollution. Construction work has also been banned until November 21but an exception has been made for transport and defence-related projects.A toxic haze has smothered Delhi since the festival of Diwali.
