WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis announced Friday that Elon Musk had ended their romantic relationship, saying the split came without warning.
Zilis shared the announcement on X, the social media platform Musk owns. She said she still cared for him and hoped they could remain friends while raising their children.
“I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents,” she wrote.
The couple share twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia and son Seldon Lycurgus. Their twins’ births became public after Business Insider reported on court documents. Zilis announced Seldon’s arrival last year.
Her breakup announcement included a screenshot of an apparent text exchange with Musk from the previous week. The messages showed affectionate communication shortly before the separation. Zilis did not explain what prompted the breakup.
Moneycontrol reported Friday that Musk had not publicly responded at the time of publication.
Zilis has worked across Musk’s technology businesses and previously served on OpenAI’s board. Her professional and personal relationship with Musk came under scrutiny during his lawsuit against OpenAI earlier this year.
During testimony in May, Zilis said she met Musk through her work with OpenAI. She described an early romantic encounter and said he later offered to be a sperm donor when she considered in vitro fertilization.
Zilis also has Indian ancestry, which Musk has discussed publicly. She and members of their family accompanied him during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington last year.
Her announcement addressed the end of their personal relationship but did not disclose any change to her position at Neuralink.
