Indian-American Puran Nebhnani has been named the chief technology officer of the Republican National Committee.

WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Indian-American engineer Puran Nebhnani was elevated this month to the position of chief technology officer for the Republican National Committee, the organization said in a press release.

Nebhani, an engineer who graduated from the University of Mumbai, first joined the RNC as its lead engineer in 2014, gradually climbing the ladder to become the organization’s engineering director and deputy chief technology officer until his March 17 promotion.

He has compiled an impressive body of work for the committee. Amongst his contributions, Nebhani was responsible for the architecture, design and development of GOP.com, the party credits retaking the White House largely to its digital campaigns. “The RNC’s investment in our digital operation and technology development paid off in dividends last year when we won back the White House,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.

Before his arrival at the RNC, Nebhani worked with the National Geographic Society, where he was instrumental in the construction of the company’s content management system for its website. Puran has also held various senior technical positions at Corvis Corporation, Pharad, Lucent Technologies, and Bell Labs. He holds a Master’s of Science in Software Engineering from Monmouth University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai.

Along with Nebhnani, the RNC also appointed Samantha Osborne as its chief digital officer.

“The additions of Samantha Osborne as chief digital officer and Puran Nebhnani as chief technology officer ensures that we will continue to have the best and brightest leading the way at the RNC,” McDaniel added. “Our commitment to staying on the cutting edge will give us the tools to help Republicans up and down the ticket win for years to come,” she said.
