Alongside this new study on obesity, there are now two million people around the world suffering from the coronavirus, nearly 600,000 in the U.S. The death toll is at 120,000 globally, over 23,000 in the U.S.

In Houston, Sewa International launched a COVID-19 national registry for blood plasma. The registry links donors and recipients with phone and social media support 24/7, all powered by volunteers.

Non-profit Indiaspora announced their network raised $500,000 through an online ‘ChaloGive’ campaign to provide COVID-19 related relief in the U.S. and India. Endorsed by former Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi and former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, the campaign continues at ChaloGive.org.
