CHICAGO (Diya TV) — Indiaspora has appointed leadership adviser and engineer Niranjana Rajagopal as managing director of its Global Forum, strengthening the nonprofit organisation’s efforts to engage the Indian diaspora worldwide.
Rajagopal will lead the Forum’s strategic direction, program design, fundraising efforts, and operational execution. She will also help advance Indiaspora’s broader mission of mobilising the global Indian diaspora as a force for positive impact.
The appointment comes as organisations across the world increasingly recognise the growing influence of people of Indian origin in business, technology, philanthropy, and public service. Indiaspora announced Rajagopal’s appointment as part of its effort to deepen engagement with Indian-origin leaders across industries and regions.
In her new role, Rajagopal will oversee the long-term vision of the Global Forum. She will work to bring together senior diaspora leaders from different sectors and geographies. The organization expects her experience in leadership development, strategy, and stakeholder engagement to help strengthen collaboration within the community. Indiaspora said the Global Forum plays an important role in connecting influential members of the Indian diaspora and creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and collective action. The organization aims to encourage leaders to share ideas, address global challenges, and support initiatives that create social impact.
Rajagopal brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the position. Throughout her career, she has held key roles at several major global firms. Her professional background includes leadership positions at KPMG Corporate Finance, the Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, and Egon Zehnder.
Her experience spans strategy, leadership advisory services, and organizational development. These areas have become increasingly important for global organizations seeking to build strong leadership networks and navigate complex challenges. Indiaspora believes her broad expertise will help guide the Global Forum as it expands its reach and influence.
Rajagopal also contributed to India’s recent research efforts. She co-authored the report “India and its Diaspora: Partners in Progress,” which the organization released in March. That work examined the relationship between India and its global diaspora and highlighted opportunities for greater collaboration and development.
Rajagopal holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the University of Mumbai. Her educational and professional journey has taken her across several major global cities.
