NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh (about $14,000) for any information regarding the bomber responsible for the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru. The NIA stated that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.

In a post shared on ‘X’, the NIA emphasized that “any information leading to his (bomber) arrest shall be rewarded.” The agency urged individuals with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The announcement of the reward comes three days after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) handed over the probe into the case to the anti-terror agency. The case was transferred to the NIA on March 3, following an NIA team’s visit to the blast site.

The explosion occurred at the Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1 during the busy lunch hour in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area, resulting in injuries to several individuals. The Bengaluru Police had previously registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act in connection with the blast.

CCTV footage captured a suspect placing a bag inside the cafe, leading investigators to believe that an improvised explosive device (IED) with a timer was used in the attack.

The Karnataka home minister, G Parameshwara, had assured swift action in apprehending the suspect. Meanwhile, following the blast, emails were sent to government officials and the city commissioner of police, warning of further explosions targeting VVIPs and crowded areas in Karnataka. These emails demanded a significant sum of money to prevent future blasts.
