LOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — Mindy Kaling was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, paying tribute to her success as an actress, producer, and writer. The ceremony, in which she was awarded the star on Hollywood Boulevard, included a heartfelt tribute by longtime friend and former co-star B.J. Novak.
Kaling, 45, who is most recognized for her contributions to The Office, The Mindy Project, and Never Have I Ever, was thankful for her acceptance speech. “This is one of those moments where I’m reminding myself to be present. I’m so happy—I love recognition,” she stated.
Novak, who worked with Kaling in 2004 on the set of The Office, applauded her career and personal attributes. “Mindy respects and gets [fame] in a very instinctive way because, besides being a stellar and phenomenally successful showrunner, an amazing mother of three, a profound and compassionate daughter, friend, and mentor to many,” Novak said. He added jokingly, “Mindy is also, in her free time, I promise you, very superficial.”
The ceremony celebrated Kaling’s impact in Hollywood, mentioning her trailblazing work as the sole woman in The Office writers’ room when she joined in 2004. She has since developed and produced several hit television shows, solidifying her position as a top entertainment voice.
Guests included peers from the industry like Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin. Kaling recognized Novak’s importance in her life, referring to him as “an integral part of my family.
