LOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — Kamala Harris, the former Vice President, has started a new chapter in her career by signing with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the talent agency said on February 18. CAA will handle Harris in all fields, but a special emphasis will be on her speaking fees and book publishing to expand her platform and the causes she has worked for during her public service.

This alliance is a reunion, as CAA had previously represented Harris when she served as a U.S. senator from California before taking up the vice presidency. Harris becomes part of a list of big-name political names at CAA, among them former President Joe Biden, who re-signed with the agency earlier this month.

Though Harris has not announced her future political ambitions since losing her election to Donald Trump, rumors of her candidacy for the 2026 California gubernatorial election are increasing. According to a recent Emerson College Polling poll, Harris would be at the top of the Democratic primary if she ran, with 57% of Democratic primary voters supporting her hypothetical candidacy.

Despite the positive polling, Harris has played down talk of her political future. Following a recent trip to wildfire-affected regions in California, she spoke of her focus on community outreach, saying, “I plan to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders, and figure out what I can do to support them.”

Along with her new representation, Harris will also be receiving the Chairman’s Award at the 56th NAACP Image Awards. The award recognizes those who stand out in public service and use their platforms to create real change. Leon W. Russell, the chairman of the NAACP’s national board of directors, commended Harris as “a force of change, driven by an unwavering passion to shape a brighter, more equitable future.”

The NAACP Image Awards, presented jointly by the NAACP and BET, will be held this Saturday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, honoring success in several categories, such as entertainment and literature.
