OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (Diya TV) — The Oklahoma City Thunder are now just one win away from their first NBA championship in over four decades. Behind a career-best performance from Jalen Williams and another dominant showing from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder surged past the Indiana Pacers, 120–109, in Game 5 of the 2025 NBA Finals to take a 3–2 series lead.
Williams erupted for 40 points with Gilgeous-Alexander adding 31 points and 10 assists. The duo accounted for 103 points either scored or assisted.
The Pacers, to their credit, showed a lot of fight. After trailing by as many as 18 points in the second quarter, Indiana clawed back into the game, cutting the deficit to 95–93 early in the fourth. Pascal Siakam led the charge with 28 points, while backup point guard T.J. McConnell gave the Pacers life with 18 off the bench.
But without a healthy Tyrese Haliburton—who was clearly hampered by a calf injury and failed to make a single field goal—the Pacers couldn’t keep up late. Haliburton finished with just four points.
The Thunder forced 23 turnovers, scoring 32 points off those mistakes. Aaron Wiggins added 14 points off the bench and Cason Wallace made his presence felt with 11 points and four steals. OKC also hit 14 three-pointers on 43.8% shooting.
The series now shifts back to Indianapolis for Game 6 on Thursday where the Pacers will face elimination for the first time this postseason. They’ve been dominant at home but with Haliburton’s status uncertain and the Thunder’s stars playing with more confidence, Indiana’s back is firmly against the wall.
The Thunder, meanwhile, are on the verge of history—just one win away from bringing a championship to Oklahoma City for the first time.
