HARTFORD, Conn. (Diya TV) — Two Indian graduate students in Hartford, Connecticut were discovered lifeless in their apartment of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. 22 year old Gattu Dinesh from Telangana and 21 year old Nikesh from Andhra Pradesh arrived in the U.S. on December 28, 2023.

The young men were pursuing their masters in Computer Sciences at the University of Sacred Heart.

The tragic discovery was made when friends attempted to wake them up on Sunday morning, but there was no response. Connecticut police were alerted, and upon entering the apartment, they found the students deceased on their bed.

While the exact cause of death remains uncertain, initial investigations suggest carbon monoxide poisoning resulting from the prolonged use of room heaters. Dinesh’s father, Gattu Venkanna, received information from the police indicating the possibility of this cause. The police have emphasized that the conclusive cause will be determined after the completion of the autopsy.

Dinesh’s maternal uncle, Sainath, expressed the family’s shock and grief over the sudden loss. The family is working to expedite the process of bringing the bodies back to India. Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy has met with the family, assuring them of support in expediting the repatriation of Dinesh’s body.
