BOSTON (Diya TV) – A family of four from the Mehsana district of Gujarat were among eight people who died while trying to enter the United States through the St. Lawrence River on the border between US and Canada. This is the second incident of people of a family losing their life while crossing into the US through Canada.
A Wisconsin man was charged with fire bombing the headquarters of an anti-abortion group last May after federal investigators pieced together a forensic trail of evidence that ended with a partially eaten burrito. DNA tests, handwriting analysis, social media posts, and surveillance video led authorities to 29 year old Hridindu Roychowdhury who was arrested at Boston’s Logan Airport as he was about to board a flight to Guatemala.
Indian American U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal is once again trying to bring federal protections for transgender and gender non-conforming people across the country. This is the second effort by the Democrat out of Seattle to get a Transgender Bill of Rights adopted. Even though Jayapal has the support of dozens of lawmakers, her bill still faces an uncertain path forward in the current Congress.
