920x920(Diya TV) — In pop singer Beyonce’s new HBO visual album special “Lemonade,” the singer calls out a cheating spouse, many speculate to be her husband, hip hop superstar Jay Z, for having an affair with a woman she refers to simply as, “Becky with the good hair.”

Social media users and self-proclaimed members of the Beyhive — a massive group of internet-savvy Beyonce fans — began to speculate that Rachel Roy, a New York-based fashion designer, was the real-life “Becky.”

There is a connection, Roy’s ex-husband, Damon Dash, co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay Z. Additionally, Roy herself once worked as a fashion designer for Jay Z’s clothing line, Rocawear. She ultimately rose to the position of creative director of the women’s and children’s divisions, where she met Dash.

In 2009, she launched the “Rachel Roy Collection,” an affordable line of sportswear, shoes and accessories. She also designs clothing exclusively for people such as First Lady Michelle Obama; Diane Sawyer; Kate Hudson; Jennifer Garner; Tyra Banks and Kim Kardashian.

Other ardent Beyonce supporters believe that Roy is also the subject of the now-infamous elevator fight between Beyonce’s sister and Jay Z — in May of 2014, her sister, Solange, attacked Jay in an elevator, lunging at him multiple times, and striking him multiple times with her purse. At the conclusion of the video, all three of them, Beyonce, Solange and Jay, exit the elevator together.

However, the social media group might have mistakingly attacked the wrong individual, or couldn’t decide on whom they believed the real criminal was in all of this.

The Beyhive first targeted Food Network celebrity chef Rachel Ray, mistaking her for Rachel Roy. The group barraged Ray’s social media pages, leaving mean epithets, lemon emojis and bumblebee emojis (a symbol of the organization) as comments on her social media posts.

Ray, who seemingly became amused by the ferocious attacks, decided to respond by posting a recipe for lemonade on her Instagram account.
