WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — India has received assurances from the United States that access to critical technology will remain secure once approved, a senior Indian official said during a technology event in the U.S. The statement comes as Washington reviews export controls on advanced artificial intelligence and semiconductor technologies.

Information Technology Secretary S. Krishnan said the U.S. government assured India that technology access would not be withdrawn after it is granted. He spoke on the sidelines of the Pax Silica event, where officials and industry leaders discussed cooperation in emerging technologies.

The assurance arrives at a key moment for India and the United States. Both countries continue to strengthen ties in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and other advanced technology sectors. At the same time, recent U.S. actions involving AI export controls have raised concerns among technology partners around the world.

Those concerns grew after the United States tightened restrictions on Anthropic’s advanced Mythos AI model in several countries. The move prompted questions about whether future limits could affect access to critical AI tools and technologies. As a result, many governments and businesses sought greater clarity about long-term technology partnerships.

Krishnan said India received clear signals that access to approved technologies would remain stable. Therefore, Indian companies, researchers, and technology institutions can plan future investments with greater confidence. The assurance also supports ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration between the two countries.

Meanwhile, officials from both nations emphasized the importance of turning artificial intelligence into real economic value. They noted that AI delivers the greatest benefits when organizations apply it across industries and public services. As a result, both sides plan to focus on practical uses of the technology.

According to Krishnan, the next phase of AI growth depends on widespread adoption. He said sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, education, and governance can benefit significantly from advanced AI tools. Consequently, India and the United States are exploring ways to accelerate deployment in these areas.

The discussions also highlighted the growing importance of resilient technology supply chains. In recent years, governments and businesses have worked to reduce dependence on a single source for critical technologies. Therefore, many countries now support more diversified and reliable supply networks.

Officials at the event acknowledged that no nation can manage the future of technology alone. Instead, they stressed the value of partnerships that strengthen innovation, production, and research. Within that framework, India is expected to play a larger role in global technology supply chains.

India has already taken several steps to expand its position in the technology sector. The country continues to invest in domestic AI infrastructure while also encouraging semiconductor manufacturing. In addition, policymakers have introduced initiatives aimed at boosting innovation and attracting investment in advanced technology industries.
