LOS ANGELES  (Diya TV) — For two decades, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles has been Southern California’s premiere venue for Indian and South Asian themed films from around the globe.

They kicked off this year’s festivities with Vishal Bhardwaj’s spy thriller Khufiya. It was Bhardwaj’s first time in attendance.

Later in the week Vishal Bhardwarj led a masterclass for a captive audience.

There were two happy hours, hosted by CAPE, South Asians in Entertainment and WISE.

Fans turned out to catch a special red carpet premiere for the film Berlin.

IFFLA has continued to grow their platform to showcase more of the South Asian diaspora, and IFFLA is a community that has long been there to support new emerging artists and their films.

The festival’s closing night also had something new, a stand up comedy performance. Varun Grover performed before the screening of his debut feature, All India Rank.

IFFLA is normally held in the spring, but held this year’s edition was in the fall, which was well received by filmmakers like grand jury prize feature film recipient 

After a few years of uncertainty because of the pandemic, it appears IFFLA is ready to accelerate its presence and impact on South Asian cinema.
