WATER MILL, N.Y. (Diya TV) — Alex Soros, son of controversial billionaire philanthropist George Soros, married longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin in a luxurious wedding in the Hamptons over the weekend. The event, described by The New York Times as “the wedding of liberal royalty,” gathered political powerhouses, celebrities, and foreign dignitaries in one of the most exclusive corners of New York.

The couple exchanged vows at a Soros family estate in Water Mill, a wealthy enclave in the Hamptons. The guest list featured some of the most prominent names in Democratic politics and elite circles.

Top Democrats turned out for the wedding. Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, attended the event. Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff joined the celebration. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also showed up to support the couple.

The guest list extended beyond politics. Vogue editor Anna Wintour, socialite Nicky Hilton Rothschild, and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama added glamour and global presence.

Speaking to Vogue, Hillary Clinton expressed joy for the couple. “I’m looking forward to being a witness to their marriage… to seeing so many longtime friends gathered in one place,” she said. “I think we all could use some fun.”

The wedding combined elegance, star power, and entertainment. R&B group Boyz II Men performed live, serenading guests with their classic hits. Guests dined on premium dishes, including Wagyu beef, grilled prawns, and chilled English pea soup. Abedin wore two custom wedding gowns during the celebration.

The night featured heartfelt toasts from Clinton, Wintour, and Prime Minister Rama. Fleets of black SUVs and private jets arrived in the Hamptons, highlighting the prestige and scale of the event.

Alex Soros, 39, serves as chairman of the Open Society Foundations, the $25 billion nonprofit his father, George Soros, founded. In June 2023, he officially took over the foundation and Soros Fund Management. He earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley, after graduating from NYU in 2009.

Huma Abedin, 48, whose parents are from India and Pakistan originally, spent decades by Hillary Clinton’s side as a trusted aide. She started as a White House intern at 19 and rose to become vice chair of Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Clinton has often referred to her as a “second daughter.”

Abedin previously married former Congressman Anthony Weiner. She filed for divorce in 2017 after Weiner was convicted of sending explicit messages to a minor. He served 21 months in prison. Abedin and Weiner share a son, Jordan.

Soros proposed to Abedin in July 2023. He announced their engagement with a heartfelt Instagram post showing him on one knee. “This happened… we couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love,” he wrote.

Abedin later shared her reaction with Vogue. “I was shocked—not by the proposal, but by the timing. It was a hectic day, and I had just gotten my hair colored,” she said, laughing about how she wore sneakers when it happened.

The wedding marked a fresh start for the high-profile couple and brought together power, politics, and personal joy in one major celebration.

The Open Society Foundations has not issued an official comment on the wedding at the time of our report.
