Hillary’s America, Film by Dinesh D’Souza set to re-release Sep 2, 2016

SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — Filmmaker and director of Hillary’s America Dinesh D’Souza said recently that his latest picture is “driving the intellectual content of the campaign right now.”

Because of that belief, and what has transpired between Mrs. Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump in recent weeks, D’Souza will be rereleasing his film in 400 theaters this weekend.

D’Souza’s movie is about the history of the Democratic party, including its early support of the Ku Klux Klan and opposition to the emancipation of slaves.

The film made its inaugural debut on July 15, grossing a handsome $12.5 million at the box office its opening weekend. That figure, good enough to make it the most successful commercial documentary of the year, was still short of D’Souza’s previous film, 2016: Obama’s America.

Hillary’s America will play this weekend nationwide at theaters owned by Regal Entertainment, Cinemark, AMC Entertainment and several independently operated venues, and insiders say the re-release is due to demand from fans who lobbied the theater owners.

In true D’Souza form, this film continues with his unique perspective of political thought — Hillary’s America spends a multitude of time on the Ku Klux Klan and the Clinton presidential campaign broached the subject a week ago when it released an ad claiming that current members of the long-ago disgraced group support the GOP nominee.

“The reason a lot of Klan members like Donald Trump is because a lot of what he believes, we believe,” says a KKK member in the ad. The ad can be viewed below, as well as D’Souza’s most recent video which was created this week.

Trump, not surprisingly, has tried to turn the tables on his Democratic rival. “It is the Democratic party that is the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow,” he said at a rally Tuesday. “The Republican party is the party of Abraham Lincoln. Not bad. It is also the party of freedom, equality and opportunity.”

“This film has a message that’s behind the headlines — it’s making headlines,” D’Souza said. “It’s driving the intellectual content of the campaign right now.”
