WASHINGTON D.C. (Diya TV) – Harvard University has officially added a new provision to its new anti-discrimination policy that prohibits caste discrimination, which will start in September. Apart from caste discrimination, the Ivy League school has also prohibited any discrimination on the basis of age, race, color, sexual orientation, and political beliefs.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak rejected new Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf’s call for a new independence referendum. According to a statement made by Sunak’s spokesperson, both Scottish and British people as a whole want politicians who will focus on the issues that matter most to them like  dealing with the cost of living crisis and reducing wait times in the public health system. Yousaf went on twitter to say he’s had constructive conversations with Sunak and says he expects the wishes of Scotland’s people and Parliament to be respected by the UK Government.

A Maryland appellate court on reinstated the conviction of Adnan Syed the man who spent over two decades behind bars for the 1999 killing of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee and whose murder case was featured in the podcast “Serial.” The appellate court said the lower court had violated the rights of the victim’s brother, Young Lee, to attend a key September hearing when a judge vacated Syed’s conviction leading to his release. Syed will remain free during this time.
