MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Diya TV) — Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared bold plans for 2025, reiterating the company’s pledge to usher in AI at breakneck speed during an internal strategy meeting recently. CNBC reported that Pichai urged his team to “internalize the urgency of this moment,” suggesting that 2025 will be a defining year for Google as it continues navigating an increasingly competitive AI landscape.

“The stakes are high,” Pichai said in the meeting. “These are disruptive moments. In 2025, we need to be relentlessly focused on unlocking the benefits of this technology and solving real user problems.” The expansion of the Gemini AI application, according to Pichai, is the centerpiece of the 2025 strategy of Google.

Acknowledging Gemini’s progress, Pichai noted that much more still needed to be done to make the app into a market leader. “We have some work to do in 2025 to close the gap and establish a leadership position there as well,” Pichai said. He set an ambitious aim for Gemini, targeting growth to 500 million users, bringing it on a level with Google’s flagship products.

Scaling Gemini to reach a broader consumer audience will be a key focus for the tech giant next year. Pichai stressed the importance of execution over being first to market. “In history, you don’t always need to be first, but you have to execute well and really be the best in class as a product,” he said. “I think that’s what 2025 is all about.”

Google’s foray into AI occurs as the company faces growing legal and regulatory scrutiny. In August, a federal judge ruled that the company had unlawfully maintained a monopoly in the search market. Ongoing investigations could drastically change Google’s future operations. Pichai still called on employees to focus on their mission. “It comes with our size and success,” he said, noting that such scrutiny is part of the broader impact of technology on society. “By this moment, we have to make sure not to get distracted by anything from this.

During the Google meeting, it also highlights its most recent AI innovations: Jules coding assistant, an AI-powered note-taking tool called NotebookLM are two that might play an important role in the company’s 2025 plans.”.

As Google readies for another competitive year, Pichai delivered a clear message: focus on AI initiative execution, growth, and management of demands from the ever-growing tech industry while keeping innovation leadership.
