PHILADELPHIA (Diya TV) — Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not address the assembled convention crowd to kick off the ceremonies when they begin Monday afternoon.

“I have decided that in the interest of making sure that we can start the Democratic convention on a high note that I am not going to gavel in the convention,” Schultz said Monday.

The anger over leaked emails showing DNC officials plotting against the primary campaign of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders reared its ugly head again Monday morning when Schultz was greeted with boos and jeers at her home state’s breakfast meeting. Later, Sanders himself spoke, once again calling on Democrats to unite in support of the presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton. Those words were met with equal boos from supporters of his in the crowd.

At this morning’s breakfast, scores of individuals wearing buttons, pins and shirts in support of Sanders booed, yelled and waved signs at Schultz as she attempted to speak to the Florida Delegation at Philadelphia’s Downtown Marriott hotel.

“Tim Canova!” some chanted, referring to the chairwoman’s congressional Democratic primary challenger in her Florida district.

This comes just one day after Schultz said she would be stepping down from her chairmanship at the end of the convention in the wake of the aforementioned massive email leak, which showed DNC officials giving preference to Clinton over Sanders during the primary season.

Protesters held up signs that simply read “E-MAILS” while others read sarcastically “Thanks for the ‘Help’ Debbie! :).”

The protestors would not relent for the entirety of Schultz’s speech, even during the moment in which she touched on the recent shootings in Fort Myers, Florida.

“That’s how angry we are,” one protestor wearing a “Thank You Bernie” shirt argued pointedly at a Clinton supporter. “We’ll accept [Clinton’s] nomination if that’s what we have to do…but we’re never going to accept her!”
