LOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — Indian actress Deepika Padukone will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honor comes as part of the 2026 class, announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The Bollywood superstar joins an elite list of international celebrities selected for their outstanding contributions to motion pictures.
Among the other honorees for 2026 are Hollywood icons like Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci. Deepika’s inclusion marks a major milestone not only for her career but also for Indian cinema on the global stage.
Soon after the announcement, Deepika shared her reaction on Instagram. She posted a simple yet heartfelt message: “Gratitude.” The news triggered widespread celebration among her fans in India and around the world. Social media platforms lit up with congratulations and tributes to the actress, who has long been a symbol of Indian pride in the global entertainment industry.
According to the official website of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, once selected, recipients have two years to schedule the unveiling of their star. “If it is not done within the two years, it will expire, and an application must be resubmitted,” the site notes. Deepika now has until 2028 to finalize plans for her star’s installation and ceremony.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame, located along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, features more than 2,700 stars. Each year, about 300 applications are submitted, but only 30 or so are chosen. This makes the selection process highly competitive and prestigious.
While earning a star is a huge honor, it comes at a significant cost. A sponsorship fee of $85,000 must be paid to cover the installation, maintenance, and production of the star. It remains unclear whether Deepika funded the cost herself or had a sponsor, but either way, the investment reflects the star’s high value in the entertainment industry.
On the professional front, Deepika has a few big projects lined up. She will star in an upcoming film by director Atlee, where she is set to appear opposite South Indian superstar Allu Arjun. Rumors also suggest she will be part of King, a film featuring Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan. However, an official confirmation is still pending.
Deepika continues to expand her career across different film industries, making her one of the few Indian actors to succeed both in Bollywood and Hollywood. She previously appeared in the 2017 action film xXx: Return of Xander Cage alongside Vin Diesel.
